Dies sind (leicht modifiziert und erweitert) Tabellen aus Daniels, Jack: Daniels' Running Formula. VDOT ist eine von ihm eingeführte Rechengröße, die an die maximale Sauerstoffaufnahme angelehnt ist. Die erste Tabelle setzt VDOT mit Wettkampfleistungen über verschiedene Distanzen in Verbindung, während die zweite Tabelle Vorschläge zu Trainingsintensitäten zu verschiedenen Werten von VDOT gibt. Dabei steht E/L für Easy/Long (Tempo für leichte und lange Läufe), M für Marathon, T für Threshold (anaerobe Schwelle, hier schlägt er übrigens Läufe von 20 Minuten Länge vor), I für Interval (Intervalltraining an der Grenze zur maximalen Sauerstoffaufnahme), R für Repetition (Wiederholungsläufe).
Das ganze gibt es auch interaktiv als Rechner.
Der Rechner liefert auch dort Werte, wo hier Felder frei gelassen
wurden. Diese Auslassungen rühren daher, dass Daniels angibt,
dass die Formeln am besten für Wettkampfdauern im Bereich von
dreieinhalb Minuten bis dreieinhalb Stunden funktionieren. Die
Auslassungen sollen weder andeuten, dass man mit einer 10km-Zeit
über 45 Minuten keinen Marathon laufen solle, noch dass man mit
einer 10km-Zeit unter 42 Minuten keine 1000m laufen
solle ;)
